Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr., announced Monday that Jeffery Beltre-Rojas, 27, of Worcester was arrested on Monday and arraigned in Worcester District Court.
Beltre-Rojas is chaged with murder in connection with the July 9, 2020 shooting of Luis Tiru-Romero.
In a statement, District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr. said “Luis Tiru-Romero was shot in the chest and head. He had remained hospitalized and in other medical facilities before he died while in hospice care in New York on Jan. 30, 2021.”
Beltre-Rojas is the third person arrested in connection to this murder case. Anthony Negron, 26, of Camden, N.J., and Jose A. Merced, 32, of Worcester, were arraigned in Worcester District Court in February on the charge of murder. Both have since been indicted and arraigned in Worcester Superior Court.
District Court Judge Andrew D’Angelo ordered Beltre-Rojas held without bail and he will be back in court on Sept. 28 for a probable cause hearing.
