After losing four straight games to the Syracuse Mets in last weeks six game homestand, the Worcester Red Sox were back at Polar Park Tuesday night for the start of a six game homestand against the RailRiders.
Tuesday was a doubleheader for the WooSox and the RailRiders. Game one was the completion of the July 17 game which was suspended because of weather conditions.
Game one resumed play at the top of the sixth inning and a scoreless game.
At the top of the seventh, Socrates Brito sored to make it a 1-0, RailRiders lead.
Bottom of the seventh, Jeter Downs hit his 8th homer of the season and got an RBI (Johan Mieses) to make it a 2-1, Worcester lead.
Top of the 8th, Cristian Perez, Armando Alvarez and Socrates Brito all scored to make it a 4-2, RailRiders game.
At the top of the nineth Cristian Perez and Estevan Florial both scored and then Matt Pita hit his second homer of the season to get the RailRiders a 7-2 game.
In the bottom of the nineth both Johan Mieses and Jhonny Pereda scored to make it a 7-4, RailRiders game.
The final for game one of this Tuesday night doubleheader was Worcester 4 and the RailRiders 7.
