The Worcester Red Sox have now won three straight games and in a six game homestand against the Buffalo Bisons, the WooSox won 4 of 6.
Chris Sale had an impressive peroformance on Saturday, allowing one run on five hits and one walk while striking out seven in five innings. Sale is expected to be traveling with the WooSox this week to Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania where the WooSox will play a six game stretch against the RailRiders. Sale could possibly start again on Thursday and if all goes well, he could make an August week two or week three return with the Boston Red Sox.
Tate a minute, did he really do that? Saturday, in the top of the fourth, Buffalo Bisons Kevin Smith had 2 balls and 2 strikes, pitch number five from Sale he hits deep into center. It looked like it would be caught by a fan sitting in the Berms but hold up, Tate Matheny insanely catches it and Smith was out. It was the best defensive play seen yet at Polar Park.
