On Saturday night a State Police trooper just around 11 p.m., pulled over a vehicle for driving erratically on Route 28 in Bourne.
The trooper gave the driver of the vehicle a sobriety test and determined that the driver was intoxicated.
The driver was Mary Lyons, the Mattapoisett Chief of Police. The trooper arrested Lyons and she was taken to the State Police Bourne Barracks where she was booked.
On Monday Lyons was arraigned in Falmouth District Court and after a plea of not guilty, she was released but will return at a later date.
