On Wednesday afternoon Worcester City Manager Edward M. Augustus Jr. released a statement regarding Officer Iggy Garcia., a Worcester police officer who was recently learned that he has stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer.
In His statement City Augustus said, “The City of Worcester wishes Officer Iggy Garcia and his family the very best during this incredibly challenging time. A dedicated Worcester Police Officer of 17 years, Officer Garcia has had a positive impact in our community, particularly as the coordinator of the Worcester Police Department’s Shannon programs, which are so critical in fostering positive experiences for our youth. The entire City family extends its strongest wishes for the best possible outcome to Officer Garcia and his family.”
Officer Garcia is expected to undergo treatments at Dana Farber and GoFundme has been set up to help him and his family.
