The 2020 NFL Draft was suppose to be in Las Vegas however because of COVID-19 it was moved instead to a virtual platform and the city of Las Vegas shutdown. The Draft was also suppose to be the formal arrival of the Raiders to Las Vegas and shine a spotlight on the entertainment capitol of America as a legitimate sports city.

On March 16, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said, “While this outcome is disappointing both to the NFL and to the Las Vegas community, we look forward to partnering with the Raiders, the City of Las Vegas and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority for a future NFL Draft as well as evaluating opportunities for other major NFL events in Las Vegas in the future, including the Super Bowl.”

The NFL this week announced that the 2021 Pro Bowl presented by Verizon will be in Las Vegas on Sunday, January 31.

Peter O’Reilly, EVP of Club Business and League Events in the announcement said, “We look forward to partnering with the Raiders and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority to bring the excitement of Pro Bowl week to our Las Vegas fans and community for the first time.”

Steve Hill president/CEO of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority on the NFL Draft being in Las Vegas said, “We look forward to hosting the best NFL players and their incredible fan base for a weeklong celebration that could only happen in Las Vegas.”

The 2021 Pro Bowl will be at the new $1.8 billion, 65,000-seat Allegiant Stadium which is the new home of the Raiders.

The Pro Bowl will feature 44 players from each conference and each team will be led by offensive and defensive NFL Legends who will serve as captains.

2021 Pro Bowl week, the NFL says will be a celebration of football featuring various activities in Las Vegas including the NFL FLAG Championship games, AFC and NFC team practices and for the fifth consecutive year, Pro Bowl Skills Showdown, where the NFL’s biggest stars from each conference compete in unique tests of their skills.

In a statement, Raiders President Marc Badain said, “Pro Bowl week is a celebration of the best the NFL has to offer and there is no better place than Las Vegas to celebrate and honor the league’s biggest stars.”
